web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own or lease for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called collocation. One of basic characteristics of a solid website is a good web hosting. Choosing a professional web hosting company is one of the key decisions you will need to make in your online business. There are so many web hosting companies out there, some have made names and reliable while some are poor in terms of service.
A web hosting company is a company that hosts either an individual’s or a company’s website, along with the information that they contain. A wide variety of these companies are available and are still becoming available nowadays, making it hard to decide which company to choose. Here are a few factors to look out for.
Good hosting companies provide just the right amount of resources to guarantee reliability and stability for their users. This includes only having a limited amount of users that their servers and equipment can take. Bad hosting providers usually host a number of users, without worrying how this will affect their services. In this case, the customer’s website might constantly be down, which is terribly unacceptable.
Although there are numerous web hosting companies in the European market, very few have succeeded in providing reliable services and high level technical support to customers. The above is explained by the fact that many companies host to their servers a large number of sites with minimal staff to provide the necessary technical support or they are resellers of larger companies.
Characteristics of a good web hosting company
Prices – I have seen small plans being rather expensive while some generous plans being fairly inexpensive. But the bottom line is that you are really getting what you are paying for! So if you feel that you are getting way more than what you are paying for, chances are they may not be one of those quality web hosting providers.
Customer service – Do not over look this or you would most likely be in trouble when you have a problem with your website. Wouldn’t it be a problem if their support stuff does not give you answers/solutions for your problem right away? Email support is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Reliable-Hosting/701856739883790 the most common customer service that most of web hosting providers offer although many of them will also offer live chat, and some even phone support. Support is something I believe what determines the quality of a host. Data centers are all pretty alike, and often times a ration of resellers are at the same data center. Test out a company’s response time by asking some common questions before going ahead with one.
Reliability & Bandwidth – The most important thing you must keep in mind while choosing web hosting is the reliability and up time. Your site will surely lose many visitors if it is down frequently and does not load fast. So, always go for web hosting with the provider which has reliable uptime and has good record. The uptime must be at least 99.9%.Always choose service provider giving unlimited bandwidth, data transfer and disk usage. Do remember that you are paying for the service. So, you must have FTP access, PHP, SSL, SSH, htaccess and the flexibility in installing scripts and software (CMS, blogging and others).
Collocation – Collocation means that you supply a server configuration and allows for monitoring link in the network of a hosting company. You are in such a concept responsible for http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/28/technology/googles-next-phase-in-driverless-cars-no-brakes-or-steering-wheel.html procurement, licensing, insurance, installation, configuration and maintenance of all hardware and software, excluding the power supply. The host does not interfere at all with your site.
Conclusion: it’s veryimportant that you take some time in picking out the best web hosting company for your e-business in order for it to thrive and for you to succeed. Look into the details and don’t make compromises, it is after all, your source of income.

This article is intended for entertainment purposes only and does not replace advice from an attorney or medical personnel. Always consult the appropriate expert for actual medical or legal advice.)
Maybe you feel something bad happened to you, something that shouldn’t have happened. Can you sue?
Asking that question in the United States of America is like asking “Can I run for president?” Sure you can, but unless you are the Democratic or Republican nominee, no one is going to take you seriously, and you’re not going to win. Anyone, or their lawyer, depending on the venue and type of suit, can go to the courthouse and file a lawsuit, so the question isn’t can you? but should you?
So when can you sue over a bad medical result or experience? What qualifies as possible medical malpractice?
When a person files a lawsuit, they are saying that they have been injured by the person they are suing in some way. The lawsuit is your way of getting some compensation for your suffering. A medical malpractice lawsuit involves suing people or entities that you feel have injured you rather than helped you when you went to them for medical care.
Note: In this article we are talking about individual lawsuits, not class action lawsuits that may involve more environmental or procedural issues.
To have medical malpractice you need to have two things happen (lawyers will sometimes call these the “prongs” you need to have.) First, the medical provider needs to have done something actually bad or neglected to do something really necessary or obvious, and what happened is outside the usual ups and downs of trying to treat a medical condition. Secondly, you must have suffered an actual injury or bad outcome because of this.
On the first point, it’s important to know that your providers don’t have to be perfect. They just have to be average. For example, let’s say you injure your leg, and the doctor that looks at your leg X-ray misses something and may have negatively impacted your recovery. Is it something that any reasonably competent doctor should have found, or is it some weird obscure thing that most doctors would miss? It’s the same as with any job; there are things you’re supposed to be able to do, and you get in trouble with the boss if you don’t do them right, and their are things that nobody will expect you to be able to do, because you don’t have the training or experience to do them. Only if it’s something the average doctor should be able to do as part of their job is it a problem that they did not do it.
The second point is also vital to your possible lawsuit. You have to have been actually injured in some way by the problem. If the doctor missed something on your x-ray and it did not end up having any effect on your recovery (or lack of recovery) then it doesn’t matter, as far as malpractice is concerned. If the nurse at the hospital gave you the wrong dose of medication one day but you suffered no ill-effects,then you haven’t actually been injured and you wouldn’t be able to successfully sue anyone.
Let’s say you think you meet the two “prongs” and you want to go further. How should you proceed?
At that point you absolutely must consult a lawyer who specializes in malpractice cases. Malpractice cases are very complicated and expensive, so you need an expert. Almost any lawyer will discuss your possible case with you without charging you, so talk to several malpractice lawyers and find the one that seems the best fit. Consider the experience of the firm, but also how interested the firm will be in your specific case as well.
Now is also the time to listen to what the lawyers tell you, even if it is not what you want to hear. The actual facts about a malpractice lawsuit experience are very different from the impression you may have gotten from newspapers, movies or television. Remember things that happen all the time aren’t front page news, so those big lawsuit awards you read about are pretty rare indeed.
In fact people who sue (“plaintiffs”) only win an actual malpractice trial against a doctor about 20-30% of the time, meaning they lose and get nothing in up to 80% of the cases. You’ll do better against a hospital (up to 50%) but it’s still not a sure thing.
And you’re not going to get paid for being unhappy. In order to win a malpractice trial, you have to be really injured. You need to be dead, or paralyzed or have lost your arms, legs and/or eyes. If you’ve had a brain injury, it needs to be bad enough that you can’t be expected to ever really take care of yourself again. If you go into a trial complaining that you had a back operation and now your pain is worse, the jury is going to be “You rolled the dice and you lost. Too bad, so sad.” Most malpractice awards are calculated to cover the actual costs of medical care due to the injury, and only about 1-2% include any kind of purely punitive payment directed at the defendant.
And a malpractice trial is complicated and expensive. Remember the discussion about whether or not a particular action was something the provider should reasonably be able to do? How do you figure that out? That means hiring “expert witnesses” and they don’t come cheap. All your records will need to get to the lawyer, and someone will have to go over them…that could take a lot of time. And for a lawyer, time really is money.
The point? If you visit a couple of lawyers and they tell you it’s not worth pursuing, listen to them. You can best believe they want cases, because they can’t make money without them. So if they tell you it’s a no-go, it most probably is.
FYI, if you are dissatisfied with the quality of your medical care there are other things you can do besides sue that can be very effective.
For starters, we still live in a democracy with capitalism (sort of) so you can always “vote with your feet.” If you don’t care for your current providers, fire them and get new ones.
If it’s a question of attitude, calmly confronting the offender or his/her boss https://www.facebook.com/pages/No-win-no-fee-medical-solicitors/273296899530142 and letting them know how you feel often brings a rapid apology and attitude improvement. If it’s a hospital problem, all hospitals have a “patient advocate” or “ombudsman” to look into your concerns and these people really take their jobs seriously. If it’s an ongoing problem with behaviors, getting appointments, proper follow-up directions, getting your records, or communication, and speaking with the doctor, practice or hospital does not help or isn’t feasible, contact the professional board for that type of provider in your state. Every state has a “board,” a department or agency that controls the license of every licensed provider, such as doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists and so on, and every licensed provider lives in fear of their board.
If you and your attorney do decide you have a case, here are some tips that will help you keep from tearing your hair out over the process.
These types of lawsuits can take a long, long time to get done. It is not uncommon for a malpractice suit to take years to get from point A to point Z.
Again time really is money for a lawyer. Most malpractice cases are taken on “contingency” meaning the lawyer gets a cut of the award for his or her pay. However, they still may have other work to do–don’t expect them to be calling you to chat, or returning every call within the hour. Lawyers tend to call clients when they need to, not the other way round. Of course they shouldn’t be ignoring you completely or giving you bad customer service, but don’t be surprised if some time goes by between contacts. Keep your own notes and records on every contact should any dispute arise.
There are a lot of steps in a lawsuit. You most likely won’t start off with the actual jury trial or judge’s decision. There are all kinds of intermediate happenings. This is normal and your lawyer should explain each one and what the outcome and next step is to you.
Reality and legal matters do not always coincide. For example, in a criminal trial the defendant is found guilty or innocent based on what happens in the trial. He or she is still legally “guilty” or “innocent” at that point regardless of whether or not they actually did the crime. Similarly, what you may see and hear presented or decided in the courtroom may not match what you consider to be the reality of the situation. It’s just the nature of the beast, so don’t take it personally.
About 99% percent of the time (not a guess but the actual statistic) your lawyer will come to you before any actual trial to talk about a “settlement.” This typically means the defendant will pay you a certain sum of money and everyone will pretend this unpleasantness never happened. There will be no trial necessary.
You may wonder if this is the way to go. After all, the insurance company that pays out the award doesn’t want to get a reputation for being “easy,” so they wouldn’t make a settlement offer unless they thought you had a pretty decent case. And you may have researched the money figures and seen that the average settlement may be about $500,000, but the average jury award is about 2.6 million against doctors and 4 million against hospitals. However, there are some things you need to know about those jury awards. One thing of course is that you will only win and get an award about 20-30% of the time. That means you have a 70-80% chance of walking away with nothing–and if you saw in the weather report that their was a 70% chance of rain today, you’d cancel your picnic and pack your umbrella. Second, you don’t get the money yet. After a big award, the defendant’s lawyers will appeal to get it reduced, and they are often successful. This is especially true for awards over one million dollars, because that’s all the insurance most providers carry, and you can’t get blood out of stone. Thirdly, although it may be a lot of fun to watch courtroom dramas on television, it is extremely stressful to actually star in your own. Given all this, it’s no surprise that approximately 97% of malpractice cases settle rather than go to trial.
Of course, what to do in your case will depend on your particular circumstances. Are you suing the kindly old family doctor who delivered half the people on the jury, or the jerk who showed up for all his operations falling down drunk? Are you dead, or even better paralyzed from the neck down? Is it something obvious, like amputating the wrong leg, or something so complicated that the jury’s brains are just going to melt trying to follow the testimony? The most important thing to do is LISTEN TO YOUR LAWYER. He or she is the expert–they know what the chances are and when and if to settle and for how much.
A final note–some of you reading this may be wondering; how much does the lawyer take? This depends on a number of factors. Your state may have state-specific rules on how much of the award or settlement the lawyer can have. You may sign a contract to let him or her have a certain amount. The percentage also varies with the award size (the lawyer gets more of a smaller award.) Generally speaking the lawyers cut ranges from 20% (larger awards) to about 50% (for smaller sums.) When hiring any expert help, don’t be afraid to get more than one opinion or quote up front, and carefully review any contract you sign.

It is common for expectant mothers to put themselves and their unborn baby in the care of a physician to get them through labor and delivery. It may frequently take a fair amount of time following the patient’s admission to the hospital before the baby is born. Throughout somepart of this time physicians often rely on the nurses and staff to keep an eye on the woman’s situation and to keep them up to date of any issues that may arise.
The doctor continues to be accountable for supervising the nurses and staff. Further, the nurses and staff are accountable for having the knowledge, training and experience to recognize symptoms of problems and for telling the doctor when they do arise. The fact is, though, that nurses and staff in some cases fail to satisfy these demands.
Consider the published claim regarding a pregnant woman at full term began experiencing contractions at at home. On the way the local hospital she started experiencing nonstop severe pain. Upon reaching the hospital the woman informed the nurse that she was experiencing major pain and that she thought there was a problem. However the nurse either did not understand or disregarded the woman’s complaints and failed to contact the obstetrician, who had not yet arrived at the hospital, to inform him.
Instead the nurse acted like this was a standard pregnancy. Precious time went by until she even began monitoring the fetal heart rate. When she at last did realize that the unborn baby was suffering from fetal distress. Finally the nurse did inform the obstetrician, who still was not in the hospital, by telephone. A second doctor on the unit took charge and carried out an emergency C-section.
The extreme pain was caused by a placental abruption. The placental abruption cased the unborn baby to suffer from a lack of oxygen leading to severe brain injury. The baby is disabled for life and has to have 24/7 attention. The law firm that handled this matter reported that the case settled for from the hospital for the nursing not spotting that the mother had experienced a placental abruption.
In this claim the patient basically signalled the nurse of her impression that something had gone wrong with the pregnancy. At this stage in the pregnancy extreme continual abdominal pain can be caused by a placental abruption.
It is not clear why the nurse failed to connect these. Regardless if she disregarded the patient’s complaints, did not hear them, did not have the http://scotslawthoughts.wordpress.com/category/bbc/ appropriate knowledge, training or experience to properly understand the situation, or discounted her complaints since a no win no fee solicitors unfair dismissal placental abruption is often (though not always) accompanied by visible vaginal bleeding, she overlooked signs of a dangerous complication.
The result, however, was a serious injury to the unborn child resulting in a lifelong disability. On account of the harm from the nurse’s mistake the law firm that represented the family reported that it was able to obtain a settlement intented to be enough so that the baby has suitable care for life.

Recently Wal*Mart has been running commercials claiming that staying healthy costs less when purchasing diet related items at Wal*Mart. With bikini season around the corner and sticking to a tight budget, I decided to give Wal*Mart’s Equate Original and Ultra weight loss shakes a try. They are located in the diet pills/Slim Fast area. The packaging and style is the same of the competition Slim Fast Optima but costing around $1.00 to $2.00 less per 6 pack of shakes.
The Ultra has less sugar and fewer calories than that of the original weight loss shake. It comes in three flavors of french vanilla, creamy chocolate and strawberries and cream. Both Ultra and Original have 24 essential vitamins and minerals with 50% of the daily needed calcium in each shake. It http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/la-weight-loss/154015-slim-fast-vs-protein-shake.html does suggest if you are pregnant, nursing, wanting to lose more than 30 pounds or have existing health problems to consult a doctor before starting any diet plan. Also the same suggestion goes if you are under 18 years of age.
The directions are to shake well before opening and serve chilled or over ice. Take note that these shakes taste completely awful if they are lukewarm. Be sure to refrigerate any unused portions. For weight loss the idea is to replace one or two meals with a shake and then eat healthy throughout the rest of the day. Or use it as a snack to avoid giving into temptation such as a chocolate sugary dessert.
I tried for 10 days to replace one meal at lunchtime with one of the shakes and exercise 5 times a week. It’s a good idea to keep two or three flavors around in the house to avoid becoming tired of the same flavor. The French vanilla flavor has a slight taste to that of canned vanilla pudding. Towards the end of the can there is a gritty texture that gets in between the teeth. Unfortunately only one weight loss shake is not enough as the whole ten days I felt hungry until dinner time. I tried another week with exercise but instead ate healthy and didn’t consume any of the shakes. The result was I didn’t lose more weight with Equate’s Weight Loss Shakes.
I did find one good aspect for these shakes. They are weight loss surgery inexpensive and help with the nighttime dessert cravings. Instead of reaching for a slice or two of cheesecake, grab one of these shakes to avoid putting on extra calories. Take note one weight loss product may help work for one person and not for another. It’s a good idea to always ask your doctor if it’s safe for you to go on a diet program.

In case there are any wrestling fans out there who are still unaware, Sting has finally signed a contract with the WWE. In recent weeks his name has been mentioned numerously on TV, and the company has even featured a promo announcing his inclusion in their upcoming WWE2K15 video game release. All of that is swell, but fans won’t simply want to see the all-time great basking in his iconic status and making one off appearances. They’ll almost certainly begin clamoring for certain dream matches to finally take place.
If Sting had made his expected entry into the federation closer to the demise of WCW, when it would have been a much much bigger deal, and when he still had more left to offer in the ring, then we could have been treated to every dream match and intriguing contest imaginable. Now, since the man in face paint, admittedly, only has one or two marquee matches left in him, we’ll just have to temper our expectations and set priorities. That means that among other similarly negligible contests, there can be no Sting vs. Heath Slater, although I for one would love to see the One Man Band go over in that one.
Sting vs. John Cena
Oh yeah, sure! This one’s already out there, gathering more and more support in internet forums cheap wwe tickets which hate Cena. Let’s put him up against everybody. Actually, it’s one of the better ideas out there. Let Cena have another useless accolade by beating Sting. As long as it keeps him out of the title picture for awhile. I always embrace reasons for that to happen.
Then we can all see Sting raising Cena’s hand afterward and acting like he pushed him to his limits, and the finish wasn’t a foregone conclusion. Of course there’s always the possibility of a major swerve and Sting winning, right?
Sting vs. the Rock
This one definitely would have CM Punk’s support and probably entice him to come back. Two largely inactive legends from fifteen years ago. I actually wouldn’t mind seeing it. The buildup would be very interesting and would generate widespread interest. It would also give some of the underutilized talent something else to mope around about, because once again, a match that would have been good and made sense ten years ago is interrupting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWE_Wrestling regularly scheduled programming out of the blue now, when both participants are well beyond their prime.
But this one sounds better than most. The two probably have good chemistry.
Sting vs. Brock Lesner
Geez, why not. Same as above. Can’t imagine having to pick a winner.
Sting vs. Triple H
This one is actually one of the more likely to come to fruition. Especially since the COO has most of the say in who signs on and who doesn’t and makes all of the announcements. A natural showdown which has pretty much been teased in Triple H’s weekly sit down interviews with Michael Cole.
I could see Triple H needing to beat Sting the same way he needed to beat Brock Lesner. There’s no way he would get beat by Sting after his slew of recent big name losses. Fine with me. If Triple H has to beat somebody, it should be Sting.
Sting vs. Kane
One which would have been a natural and made the utmost sense years ago because of the macabre nature of each character. But with Sting’s days in the ring winding down and with him having only one or two matches left in him, Kane is out of the question. The WWE isn’t even trying to make the so-called Favorite Demon look good anymore. It would have been nice to see Sting taste defeat at his hands back in his heyday, though.
Sting vs. Bray Wyatt
A popular contest being clamored for, since Wyatt is an upcoming star with bright prospects and the characters would play off of one another well. I’m all for it if Sting wants to take a beat down in one of his one and final matches. I wouldn’t refuse to watch an event simply because this was on the card.
Sting vs. Roman Reigns
Since the WWE has a changing of the guard thing going on with Roman Reigns and he seems to be a lock to be the next top guy, it would make sense to put him in there with Sting. The thing about it is, he probably has much much better things to do.
Sting vs. Chris Jericho
Nah! It’s a suggested match up for Sting in circulation because of the timeliness of Jericho’s most recent return. The rationale for such a showdown also being their respective histories in WCW and the fact that they never faced off even then. So what? I’ll watch it if it happens though, like everyone else.
Sting vs. Randy Orton
Orton is well past his Legend Killer days. I think those days ended because he stopped being able to kill legends. He killed a few of the sickly and frail ones, like Jake Roberts, but then some of the relatively healthy ones started killing him. I think Hulk Hogan should be credited with permanently putting to rest that moniker for Orton. In their one and only match up, which was Hogan’s last one in the WWE, he had Orton in position to be beat and then took his sweet time doing it.
Put Orton in the ring with Sting and maybe he can redeem his standing as Legend Killer.
Sting vs. the Undertaker
Well, this seems to be the safe bet if Sting has any kind of WWE match. He’s even been the one clamoring for it for years. It’s unclear if the Undertaker can even go at all. It’s also unclear if Sting can even go at all. This one should have happened years ago, and is past its expiration date. With the Streak on the line, in a match pitting the WWE’s icon against WCW’s icon, that in itself could have carried the match, but didn’t the WWE kind of spoil that by having the Streak end?
It’s still the odds on favorite. If it turned out to be each man’s, or just one of them’s, last match, then…well…everybody, and I mean everybody, will be tuning in.
Sting vs. Hulk Hogan
In this case Sting wins, but only if the referee ignores an earlier pinfall victory by Hogan. Since Hogan came home to the WWE last year, there’s nothing stopping it from happening. It could happen if Hogan was somehow dissatisfied with what is widely believed to have been his last match with…well…Sting!

Among my many passions and obsessions, musical theatre is one of the most deep-rooted. I was sent a request to make a list of ten must-see musicals, and it wasn’t easy; there are a lot of other amazing musicals I wish I could’ve fit on this list, but I had to pick the best of the best — at least in my own humble opinion.
10) Avenue Q — This is, by far, the most hilarious musical you will ever see. With characters consisting of both puppets and regular actors, (also, the puppeteers are in plain sight, which adds another dimension to the characters because you can see the puppeteers acting and reacting along with their puppets) Avenue Q is the ultimate “adult Sesame Street Show.” It’s about young kids, fresh out of college, trying to make something of themselves and find their purpose in life. The plot is easy to follow and the characters are instantly loveable. The http://www.amazon.com/ABBA/e/B000APR9C2 score includes songs such as “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist,” “The Internet is for Porn,” “You Can Be As Loud As the Hell You Want (When You’re Making Love),” and “It Sucks to Be Me.” Not for those who are easily offended.
9) Hairspray — First, before I say anything, I have to state for the record that I HATED John Travolta in the Hairspray movie. Okay? The character of Edna Turnblad is supposed to be masculine…deep voice, butch…that’s why she’s funny! Every other Edna was perfect: Divine in the original film, Harvey Fierstein in the original Broadway cast, Bruce Vilanche in the first tour cast…but John Travolta? Come on! He made the character sooo what it was not supposed to be. I think that was a terrible, awful, horrible casting decision on somebody’s part. (Somebody who obviously thought that a big celebrity was needed to help promote the movie and was more important than finding someone who actually fit the character.) Alright; there’s my two cents. Anyway, Hairspray. The STAGE musical. I love it; the music is irresistably catchy and fun, and the story is excellent, with a lot of humor, a lot of pep, and a lot of heart. It deals with segregation and integration in the sixties, discovering who you are and where your loyalties lie, falling in love for the first time, and standing up for what you believe in. It’s colorful, upbeat, and more importantly, it has a message.
8) Wicked — I have to say, I’m kind of annoyed with all the popularity Wicked has gained in the past few years. It’s sort of like when one of your favorite bands becomes insanely popular; they sell out. Well, Wicked, to me, is kind of a “sellout” musical, because I loved it long before it had gotten any recognition. Now everybody loves it. I guess I shouldn’t be bitter, because it really is a great show. It’s based on the book Wicked: Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire (who’s known for writing parallel novels to fairy tales, i.e. Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister). However, the musical takes a much lighter approach to the material in the book and turns it into something that is family-friendly. (The book is a political, social, and ethical commentary on what defines good and evil. As is the musical, I suppose. But the book is much darker, containing some sex scenes, an allegorical reference to Hitler, a suicide reference, and a disturbing murder.) The story is about the Wicked Witch of the West, really named Elphaba, and tells how she became “wicked.” A main element of the story is her friendship with one Glinda Arduenna, with the thick of the plot being how the two cope when Elphaba attempts to fight against the Wizard and his oppressive laws. The music is excellent; it’s nice to hear two strong female voices in the majority of the songs, because there isn’t really an abundance of musicals with two female leads. Ultimately, I think this is a show anybody would enjoy; it’s The Wizard of Oz all over again — just the side we didn’t see the first time.
7) The Last Five Years — I’m sorry, I’m going to cheat and throw in a show that is not officially a “Broadway musical.” It played Off-Broadway for only a few months, and since then has sprouted up in regional theatres across the country and in London. It is a musical, it’s a two-person show, and it is entirely sung…I would estimate it at about ninety minutes long. The story is simple: Two people fall in love, get married, fall out of love, and split up. And don’t worry, I didn’t just spoil it for you. Here’s the twist: SHE tells the story from end to beginning, and HE tells the story from beginning to end. They alternate songs the whole show and are never onstage together, except for the middle of the show where their tellings of the story cross paths at their wedding. The show starts out with a song by Kathy, and she’s singing about how her husband Jamie has just left her for good. The second song is sung by Jamie, where he’s reeling from having just gone on his first date with Kathy. The third song is Kathy’s again, and it takes place at a point in their relationship where things are really shaky and hanging on by a thread. The fourth song is then Jamie’s, where he sings about how happy he is because his career is taking off and he and Kathy are moving in together. And so it goes the rest of the show, all the way to the ending which is, quite literally, bittersweet. The music is very contemporary, with heavy, stylistic piano. The vocals are excellent as well, and very challenging, considering both the male and female singers need to have quite a wide vocal range in order to sing the songs properly. Written by Jason Robert Brown (who became known in the world of musical theatre with his first Off-Broadway musical Songs for a New World), The Last Five Years is raw realism, delivering the sadness and frustration that come with trying to maintain a relationship, but also with its share of cute and funny moments, too.
6) Gypsy — This is the ultimate piece of theatre about theatre. Based on the true story of the infamous burlesque dancer Gypsy Rose Lee (real name Louise) and her constant struggle with her domineering stage mother Rose who forces her and her sister June into the world of vaudeville. Set during the Great Depression, Rose refuses to believe that vaudeville is a dying business, and in an act of desperation, volunteers Louise to strip at a house of burlesque. Louise is outraged that her mother has done this to her, but ends up doing the strip number, realizes she’s better at stripping then anything else her mother has forced her into, surprisingly enjoys it, and soon becomes one of the most popular, if not THE most popular, stripper in the history of burlesque. With music by Stephen Sondheim (Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, Into the Woods, among others), the story is quite engaging and one can’t help but sympathize with and cheer on Louise. Based on Gypsy Rose Lee’s memoir, the musical puts a happier spin on her relationship with her mother Rose, giving the story a happy ending, which wasn’t the case in reality. Nevertheless, the show is moving in its own way and will have you tapping your toes or humming a tune on the way home from the theater. The music is very solo-vocal-orientated with not very many chorus songs at all. Like Wicked, Gypsy features two female leads and it’s nice to hear two powerful female voices, (three, including June); but unlike Wicked, the female vocals are much more alto than soprano, making them a bit easier and more fun to sing, (especially for karaoke). Even if you can’t find a performance playing near you, I strongly suggest buying the cd (the newer one with Bernadette Peters as Rose, not the old one with Roselind Russell as Rose; she can’t sing). I’m sure you already know some of the songs: “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “Let Me Entertain You,” and “Some People.”
5) The Lion King — If you loved the movie, you’ll love the stage show. If you didn’t love the movie, I think you’ll still love the stage show. The show has so many things going for it: One, the music. Written by Elton John and Tim Rice (Tim Rice collaborated with Andrew Lloyd Webber to write Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Evita; he’s a pretty damn good lyricist), the show sticks closely to the movie’s score and book, with a few new songs. Now, The Lion King is one of my all-time favorite movies, and I think the music is spectacular; therefore, seeing it onstage, with the music loud and booming, it’s quite amazing to me. Two, the costumes. The costumes are simply beautiful; they’re intricate, complex, extremely well-designed, and really a treat for the eyes. It’s probably a http://the-cheapestseats.com/mamma-mia-broadway good thing that most people already know the story from watching the movie, because when seeing the stage show, you may catch yourself staring at the costumes and the characters’ graceful movements in the costumes rather than paying attention to what’s being said. Not that the costumes are a distraction — they just enhance everything that goes on in the show. Apart from the costumes, another aesthetically pleasing attribute of The Lion King is its props and scenery; it’s all so bright and colorful. Sometimes you kind of feel like you actually are in the jungle. In summation, I think this is the ultimate family-friendly show; it brings something to the table for both children and adults alike.
4) The Phantom of the Opera — Overdone, cliche, extravagant…say what you will; Phantom is a phenominal show with some of the most beautiful music and lyrics ever written. Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Charles Hart took Gaston Leroux’s early twentieth century French novel and turned it into the most successful and longest-running Broadway musical of all time. (It surpassed Cats a few years ago.) The story is that of Christine Daae, a young soprano who lives and performs in the Paris Opera House. Her father died when she was a little girl, and she now believes that the spirit of her father is coaching her as a singer by means of a mysterious Angel of Music who lives in the bowels of the opera house. This Angel, the genius Phantom, has become obsessed with Christine and wishes for her to love him. She is strangely captivated by the Phantom and does as he commands, even though she is in love with Raoul, a childhood friend, who is in love with Christine as well. The story is great, but the music…oh, the music. I can barely put into words how beautiful it is. Even if you’re not a fan of female operatic singing — I know I’m not, but for Phantom, I can’t help but make an exception — I believe you will still find the music of Phantom to be captivating and overwhelming.
3) Jesus Christ Superstar — Before you start belting out the botched lyrics “Jesus Christ superstar! Who in the hell do you think you are?!” and before you roll your eyes at the fact that this musical is on the list, just hear me out: You don’t have to be Christian, or even religious at all, to enjoy Jesus Christ Superstar. Granted, when I fell in love with this musical, I was in fifth grade and yes, I was Catholic. But for years now I haven’t been practicing any religion and I declared myself an agnostic early on in high school — and I still love it. Because, when you look at the big picture, Jesus Christ Superstar is much more of a political story than it is a religious one; the whole plot is about the government growing angry towards and fearful of Jesus because the people are following and listening to him more than they are the Law. Jesus, Mary Magdaline, and the disciples are really just a bunch of hippies trying to make the world a better place. Hell, I’ve seen a performance of the show where Jesus was smoking a joint and passing it down to Simon and Mary. Come to think of it, I think I know more people who aren’t religious and love this musical than people who are. If you are Christian, I don’t see why you wouldn’t like it, either. I mean, the story does stick to the Bible, even with some direct quotes. The beauty of the show is it can be updated to fit the times: The performance I saw where Jesus and his disciples were smoking pot also had Judas in a business suit talking on a cell phone and the merchants in the temple selling heroin and guns. There are some who prefer if it sticks to the 70′s style like the movie, and that’s fine, too. And the music…well, it’s Andrew Lloyd Webber — how could you go wrong? The show is entirely sung, and the music is very rock ‘n’ roll; what more could you ask for than Jesus belting it out in falsetto? Awesome.
2) Rent — I don’t even know where to start. It’s an amazing and gripping story with extremely diverse, yet very relatable, characters. The show is set in the bohemian East Village of New York City during the AIDS scare of the late 80′s. The story follows eight friends — three straight men, two lesbians, one straight woman, one gay man, and a crossdresser — through a fast-paced plot that deals with drugs, the complications of AIDS, falling in and out of love, the importance of friendship, and, above all, living life to the fullest every day. It’s almost entirely sung, running a little over two hours. Act One is fun, upbeat, and funny, with a few dramatic moments scattered about. Act Two, however, becomes much more intense as the characters face the reality of what AIDS is ultimately capable of. But not to fear: the show ends on a positive note that will have you crying tears of happiness (well, maybe I should just speak for myself on that point) and will give you a suspiciously strong desire to hug your friends as soon as the curtain call is over. I’m what you would call a huge Rent-head; I’ve seen the show eight times, I’ve waited hours before the box office opens to get first-row rush tickets, I always wait at the stage door afterwards to meet the actors, and I have a pair of pants I decorated Rent-style that I have the cast sign after the show. I’ve even met Anthony Rapp, (who played Mark in the original Broadway cast and in the movie), and he graciously recorded my outgoing voicemail message on my cell phone for me; he’s a really nice guy. Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is that Rent is addictive and its energy is contageous. The creator of the show, Jonathan Larson, poured years of hard work into Rent and it is, in every sense of the word, HIS show. He literally lived and breathed everything Rent personifies, and unfortunately he never got to see it performed in front of an audience; on the day before Rent was to make its Off-Broadway debut (once the show gained popularity, it moved to Broadway) Jonathan died of an aortic aneurysm. His untimely death only strengthens the show’s message and makes it resonate even louder with its audiences.
1) Les Miserables — Based on the epic novel by Victor Hugo, Les Miz is about a man who got dealt a rotten hand in life and has every reason to be bitter and hateful, and yet he’s not; he remains a good person throughout all the struggle and hardship he endures, and he’s completely selfless, doing all he can to help those he cares about. This show has everything: drama, romance, tragedy, suspense, humor (only some, but it’s there), revenge, friendship, loss, unrequited love, revolution, contempt, anger, desire…it’s all there — and entirely sung, might I add. (It also has, believe it or not, its moments of happiness, as well. They’re few and far between, but the fact that they’re surrounded by sadness makes them all the more potent.) There are numerous plotlines that weave in and out of each other, all of them tied together by and surrounding the main character Jean Valjean. I think it probably takes seeing it a few times before understanding it completely, (unless you read a full synopsis). I would suggest listening to the music first and getting a feel for it before going to see it onstage; it’s nearly three hours long, and it’s not really everybody’s cup of tea. The first time I saw it was at a high school, performed by students, and I thought it was boring. But then, for some reason, I bought the soundtrack and FELL in LOVE. Now I can’t imagine not having ever listened to it or seen it. The music is so powerful and moving, the lyrics so full of emotion and passion…I can’t help but get chills and, a lot of times, even tear up every time I listen to it. This is my favorite musical and favorite stage show of all time. (Rent is a close second). I’ve seen it four times (not including the high school performance) and would gladly journey to another city to see it again if it were still playing in the U.S. (It’s currently only playing in London.) There is, however, a video of the show called Les Miserables: The Dream Cast if you’re dying to see it; the video isn’t a full-out performance, it’s merely a concert done in costume. But the cast was hand-picked from the huge array of actors who have perfomed in Les Miz over the years, and they picked the best of the best. It’s truly incredible. It’s the next best thing you’re going to get to seeing the show live. Okay, I need to stop right here, or else I’ll go on forever; I could talk about Les Miz for days. Bottom line: beautiful show. I can’t sing its praises loud enough.

Hypnotherapy is one of the most common and effective cognitive treatments to treat a wide range of problems, from chronic pain to low self esteem and weight problems. If you’re considering hypnotherapy in Miami, you may be wondering how it actually works — and it if will work for you.
What we do know about hypnosis is it’s a deep state of relaxation, but people vary in their ability to be hypnotized. It seems some people cannot be hypnotized at all, while some people can enter this trance-like state very easily. For those patients who can be hypnotized, Miami hypnosis therapy is a very powerful tool to treat many issues. Many people successfully use hypnosis for weight loss, for example, while others turn to it to manage a chronic health problem.
In 2012, researchers from the Stanford University School of Medicine were able to show for the first time how the brains of people who cannot be hypnotized differ from those who are hypnotized easily. These researchers hope this work will one day obtain a brain signature of being hypnotized to use this therapy more widely and effectively in treating patients.
It’s estimated that about 25% of people cannot be hypnotized, which means hypnotherapy in Miami will not be effective for these patients. It seems your ability to be hypnotized isn’t linked to any specific personality trait, though.
Research has found so many benefits of hypnosis, and Miami hypnosis therapy can help your brain control sensation and behavior, as well as control stress and anxiety, fight phobias and manage pain. Studies have also confirmed the benefits of hypnosis for weight loss, particularly if you are an emotional or stress eater.
Hypnosis often uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help you achieve a heightened state of awareness, similar to a trance. You attention will become so focused during this state that you will block out or ignore things going on around you so you may focus Garry Webster your attention on specific thoughts with http://www.aboutibs.org/site/treatment/complementary-or-alternative-treatments/hypnosis the help of your therapist.
Hypnotherapy is often an aid to other treatment options like psychotherapy, as this state will help you explore painful emotions or memories you may be hiding from your conscious mind, and it may help you perceive things differently, such as blocking out your mind’s awareness of pain. It my be used as suggestive therapy to help you change behavior like nail biting or overeating, or for analysis to help you find the real cause of your symptoms or problems and then address them in psychotherapy.
If you’re considering Miami hypnosis sessions, remember that hypnosis is not dangerous, and it is not mind control. Your therapist cannot make you do anything you do not want to do. It’s a clinically studied and effective way to combat many problems in your life, but it won’t work for everyone. Your best bet is turning to a hypnosis center that offers free initial consultations to determine if you will see any benefit from the treatment before continuing.

With the WWE WrestleMania 29 results in the books, two new champions were crowned on Sunday night. One was http://penny-tickets.com/wrestlemania-31-tickets/ on the live pre-show, as The Miz captured the Intercontinental Championship from Wade Barrett. The other, came as the final match of the night, when John Cena finally bested The Rock, to reclaim the WWE Championship. It was their second match in as many WrestleMania Pay-Per-Views, with the two now tied at 1-1 in terms of wins against each other. So what’s next for these two?
According to USA Today, John Cena has made an appearance on Live With Michael and Kelly to talk about his freshly won championship. Cena has mentioned on Twitter that he’ll be on Showbiz Tonight on HLN, in addition to Fox Business. Cena tweeted on Monday:
“The new @WWE Champion @JohnCena visits with @Varneyco on @FoxBusiness the day after #WrestleMania”
Cena also appeared on Good Morning America and presented host Sam Champion with his own Championship belt, appropriately. It’s very likely that both Cena and The Rock will show up on tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, in http://www.wrestlingsuperstars.org/wwe/hulk-hogan/ what is likely going to be a “passing of the torch” sort of moment.
With that said, one would hope there might be a rematch between the two superstars. The next Pay-Per-View is Extreme Rules in late May. However, the two could also go head-to-head on tonight’s Raw or a future episode. Or, The Rock could once again walk off into the distance, in search of more Hollywood gold.
It appears this latest “title reign” by Dwyane Johnson was merely a cross-promotion between WWE and Rock with his multiple movies either in theaters or on the way. However, Rock could truly surprise the WWE Universe and give them one more match to remember, for the time being.
As for John Cena’s next opponent, Extreme Rules provides a great setup for a match with all sorts of stars. One who comes to mind is Mark Henry, another is Ryback. Ryback was surprisingly on the losing end of a match to Henry at Mania, but could always win some sort of tournament to capture #1 contender status. There’s also the potential that The Shield throws their names into contention. With all that said, it makes for a very interesting title picture going forward, once The Rock heads back to Hollywood.
Who do you think will be the next opponent for John Cena after his big win over The Rock at WrestleMania? Will Cena and The Rock have a rematch, or ever fight again?

Did You Know?
With 22 million sufferers, asthma is one of the most prevalent diseases in the US, and the third biggest reason for hospital visits.
From exercising to a sudden change in temperature or humidity – asthma, much like an allergy, can be triggered by a variety of factors. Difficulty breathing, wheezing, sneezing and coughing, are often the signs of asthma, and can be followed by more severe symptoms like retractions, chest pain, and panic/anxiety.
Although asthma is not curable, it can be controlled by avoiding triggers, and strictly adhering to a treatment plan. For the most part, the quality of life and lifespan of those afflicted is same as that of non-sufferers. But asthma is a very serious and unpredictable condition, and can put an asthmatic’s life in grave danger within a few minutes.
Many things contribute to how successfully a person can live with asthma – good climate, low levels of pollution, and access to healthcare. All of these vary from place to place, but some cities just manage to have the right combination of them, and prove to be pretty comfortable abodes for asthmatics.
Best Places for Asthmatics to Live
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) is an organization dedicated to improve the life of asthma-suffers, by providing information, and researching for treatments and cures. They analyzed the 100 largest cities in the US, and compiled a list of cities which are considered to be the best and worst for asthmatic people. Here are the very best -
Daytona Beach, Florida
Ranked high for – Low pollen count, and mild to warm climate
Risk Factor – Pollution due to The Daytona International Speedway
This tiny little city, famous for its NASCAR rallies and hard-packed sand beaches, is at the bottom of Asthma Capitals list, meaning, it is considered the best to live for those suffering from asthma, out of the 100 cities evaluated. It is rated better than average in all categories, but one – the number of uninsured people, in which it is ranked ‘average’.
Ranked high for – Excellent medical facilities and air quality
Risk Factor – High incidence of asthma
Boise, also called the city of trees, is located on the Boise river. The semi-arid climate and high air quality make it pretty liveable for asthma-sufferers, and it also boasts a low poverty rate – a significant factor related to asthma. Surprisingly though, the city reports a high number of asthma cases, bringing it down to second place in the list.
Ranked high for – Clean air, and smoking laws
Risk Factor – High incidence of asthma
Portland is called the ‘City of Roses’, thanks to a multitude of green parks and the International Rose Test Garden. Excellent public transport and city plan makes it one of the most ‘green’ cities on the planet. Portland also has banned indoor smoking in all public spaces, since 2009. Although, like Boise, Portland too has a higher than average asthma rate.
San Diego, California
Ranked high for -Asthma specialists, and low medication use
Risk Factor – Pollen
San Diego, known for its mild weather and lovely beaches, is also emerging as a major healthcare center. A large number of asthma specialists are in this city, but the ranking is also boosted by its smoking laws. The only parameter in which San Diego underperformed was the pollen count, ranking ‘average’ in that category.
Ranked high for – Warm climate, and smoking laws
Risk Factor – Ranked average in number of asthma specialists
Ranked high for its air quality, smoking laws, and mild, sunny climate, Sarasota is also known for its world-class beaches. It is discountliveevents also a booming economic center, and said to be one of the best places for businesses, and to live in.
A few other notable cities which are considered good for asthma-sufferers include -
Palm Bay, Florida
Colorado Springs, Colorado
Salt Lake City, Utah
San Francisco, California
The AAFA used the following 12 parameters for compiling the list -
? Prevalence of asthma
? Pollen score in the city
? Air quality of the city
? Public smoking laws in the city
? School inhaler access laws
? Poverty rate of its people
? The number of people not covered by health insurance in the city
? Number of ER visits http://www.flickr.com/photos/forwardlookguy/186888101/ for asthma
? Rescue medication used in case of an asthma attack
? Controller medication use by asthma-sufferers
? Number of asthma specialists in the city
These are some of the places that have the lowest pollution rates, good healthcare, and generally good climate – all factors that can positively affect the quality of life of an asthma-sufferer, and hence, qualify as the best places to live in.

Law firms operating http://nowinnofee360.co.uk/ in Texas can’t use titles such as “chief executive officer” or “chief technology officer” for nonlawyer managers, according to an ethics opinion by the Texas bar’s ethics committee.
The ethics opinion says firms shouldn’t use “officer” in nonlawyer titles because the word indicates the person has the power to control either the entire law firm or significant areas of the firm’s operations. Nor can law firms use the word “principal” to describe nonlawyer managers because the word implies the employee has an interest in the firm involving control or ownership. The ABA/BNA Lawyers’ Manual on accident claims no win no fee Professional Conduct has a report on the opinion.
Texas ethics rules do not allow nonlawyers to direct or control the professional judgment of a lawyer, the ethics opinion says. Firms that follow this rule but nonetheless give nonlawyers the title of “officer” or “principal” are communicating in a false or misleading way, according to the opinion.
The ethics opinion is at odds with the way that many large law firms operate, according to the Lawyers’ Manual. Many law firms hire nonlawyers with top business backgrounds and give them titles reflecting their roles. The story offers some examples. Scott Green is “chief executive officer” of Pepper Hamilton, which doesn’t have offices in Texas. And Elizabeth Hughes Eginton is “chief marketing officer” at Latham & Watkins.
The ethics opinion addressed a second question: May a Texas law firm pay bonuses to nonlawyer employees based on its ability to meet a revenue or profit target? The opinion said firms can’t do so because of the ethical ban on sharing legal fees with a nonlawyer.
“Such a plan would provide an incentive for the firm’s non-lawyer employees to increase revenues,” the opinion said, “which could be accomplished through soliciting clients, or to reduce expenses, which could be accomplished by interfering with a lawyer’s independent judgment in practicing law.”
The opinion adds that law firms may, however, take revenue and profits into account when deciding whether to pay bonuses and how much to pay. But firms can’t make promises such as, “We will pay you a bonus of $10,000 if the firm’s revenue (or profit) for the year is at or above $1 million.”

Hunger is nature’s way of telling us that we are energy deficient and should eat. The “genius” of advertising is that we eat even when we are not hungry and we do so without even being consciously aware of our eating behaviour
The latest scandal out of Washington — revelations that VA hospitals may have suppressed information about long waiting lists — serves as another reminder that much work remains when it comes to providing adequate care, including mental health and addiction services, to our veterans.
In the Andes Mountains of Peru, living in extreme poverty, Filomena Taipe Mendoza, 116 years old, is in the running to become the world’s oldest living person. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays and the resulting cellular damage is a leading risk factor for developing melanoma — and that risk factor is something we can control and reduce.
There’s much to be said for the so-called Mediterranean diet — diets low in red meat and high in fish, nuts, vegetables, beans and heart-healthy fats like olive oil. But if that’s the diet you want to eat, you certainly aren’t going to find it at “Italian” chain restaurants in America.
Despite thinking at first that warning labels might go too far, I wound up realizing they wouldn’t go nearly far enough. Junk should never have been glorified as a food group in the first place.
Many of you have doubtless already seen the commentary in the New York Times by my friend and colleague, Dr. David Ludwig, entitled: “Always Hungry? Here’s Why.” If you have not read the piece, I commend it to you.
I guess I only know this. The vendors keep dishing dietary epiphanies in bite-sized, moronic morsels almost every day. We never seem to see the elephant in the room and most of us can’t seem to wait to get in line.
A few days ago, the FDA cut the recommended dosage for one of the most popular sleeping pills in half. This brings up some questions — to put it politely.
I hope that one day a veteran can walk into any VA hospital or health care facility and be given options for any affliction that they’re facing without being put on a waiting list. The government needs to help veterans get access to health care that they deserve.
I really do appreciate all the new science that supports the importance of sleep. But I think today in our modern times, instead of researchers telling us we’re arrogantly ignoring our body clocks, we need to be more practical and to do the math.
It turns out that the use of hormonal birth-control impacts on our sexual desire, our relationship satisfaction and our attractiveness in a multitude of ways, but before you rashly chuck your contraceptives into the bin, take note that the effects can be positive as well as negative. According to anthropologist Donald E. Brown, admiration of generosity and disapproval of stinginess are human universals. This means that humans in all cultures and at all times admire the generous and reject the greedy. (Donald E. Brown, Human Universals and Their Implications, 2000.) While greed is universally condemned, it appears it was a problem 2,000 years ago and has continued to be a problem right up to the present, and is often cited as one cause of the current recession.
Values: Jesus on Greed
After warning his listeners about greed, Jesus illustrated his point with a story. A certain rich man had an abundant harvest, so large that his barns could not hold it. He did not consider sharing his good fortune, but rather chose to tear down his old barns and build bigger ones to hold his grain. The man said to himself, I “have plenty of grain laid up for many years. (I will) take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” But God said the man was foolish, because he was fated to die that very night. Jesus commented, “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” (Luke 12:15-21)
Values: How to be Rich Toward God
Although some organized churches imply that a person demonstrates richness toward God by giving to their church, this is not at all what Jesus said. Once again, he told his audience a story. “For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in; naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.’ (Matthew 25:35) When asked when any of these events happened, Jesus answered that whenever a person feeds, clothes, or comforts another person, even (or especially) the least “important” person, then they have fed, clothed, and comforted him. Mother Teresa called the poor, “Jesus in his distressing disguise.”
Values: American Values Invades American Christianity
Religions affect the cultures in which they operate and cultures also affect awesome show the religions. The American Christian right tends to favor big business and wealth accumulation while vilifying the poor; people on welfare, immigrants, and even the unemployed. Bryan Fischer, conservative radio talk show host for the American Family Association, claims that Jesus was a capitalist who encouraged private enterprise and investing. Fischer bases this on the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) while ignoring the other things Jesus said about money and the poor.
Values: Greed is Good
According to Fischer, “Laziness is punished rather than rewarded, and resources are not involuntarily transferred from the producers to the non-producers but the other http://www.jasonaldeanticketssite.com/ way round.” By Fischer’s taxonomy, the millions of unemployed Americans must be lazy, “non-producers.” This attitude does not originate in the teachings of Jesus, but from conservative American politics. The rise of the Prosperity Doctrine (God wants us to be wealthy) in the past twenty years in American Christendom coincides with the rise of the “me” generation, and deregulation of corporations in hot pursuit of profits.
Jesus once asked his followers a practical question, “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?” (Matthew 16:26) Although some Wall Street traders made off with hundreds of millions of dollars, Jesus implied that that may ultimately prove to be a bad trade.

You’re passionate and charming, sociable and love a good time! You are a bit of a perfectionist who can be a bit bossy at times. Some believe you can be little of a narcissist. You love to be in a position of public service, and it really works nicely because you desire to become popular.
You like to dress up for the special occasion and get a bit set off if those surrounding you are sloppy. You don’t like to be pressured or hurried, rather you like to plan ahead and have everything on an even balance. You love attention, a very good debate, and sensible discussions. You don’t take criticism very well. Libra always looks to keep the harmony or regain it when it’s lost.
As a Libra, you don’t like being alone and want a partner that has their life and priorities balanced. You want to know your love interest can balance their own work, job, family and you all at once. You value harmony and organization, so the ideal match for a Libra is a neat person who is organized. You love to resolve issues, yours and other peoples.

She is wearing a veil is a very special part of the bride. It can be difficult to understand how the veil is a pair of short hair style is so stylistically and stability. These are some great ideas for bridal veils for short hair.
Concern for brides with short hair, when it comes to veils is, “How can I avoid it slip?” There is no doubt that the less hair you have, the harder it is to anchor your veil and give some stability. But do not let that stop you from wearing a bridal veil, if it is something you want to do. With a little creative in cutting hair and some help from your wedding hair jewelry, you can use a beautiful wedding veil.
The first step in the selection of a veil for short hair is to talk to your hairdresser. It also depends on how you cut your hair really is, and if you grow a little more time for the wedding. If you have a jolt to the chin, you have more options than you may think.
This length of hair can actually be collected in a French twist, which will ensure a candle much easier. Simply place the metal comb the web in your hair during the turn. Put a fork or a comb, glass jewelry on the side of the turn, and has a stylish look that is perfect for any length veil.
Another option for the chin hair is to have your stylist pull a little to the crown. A good hairdresser can use this small section of hair to create an anchor for the comb with a veil or backcombing or even the creation of small braids in the top layer of hair, braids, little would be invisible, in other words d, but is an excellent base for navigation. With the rest of all types of diamonds his left chin length hair, a short sail tends to look more in proportion to the long term. A waist length http://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-venues veil with ribbon edge would be loved by it off with the wedding jewelry hair like a comb of pearls hidden in the front of the veil. One good thing with a veil is that Shortie is so comfortable that you can use for the wedding together, until the end of the reception (a good thing, too, as it could be difficult to draw the comb backcombing your small braids or without making a mess of his haircut.)
Even brides whose hair is too short to pull back at all can not wear a veil. The most foolproof way to ensure a bridal veil for short hair is sewing in a crown or tiara. The best donut is made of a slightly flexible framework that can actually be slightly bent in conformity with the shape of your head for a perfect fit. Sometimes there will be a small metal comb on the front of the rim, which will go into the hair on top of your head (useful if your hair spray enough to hold the comb). Fuzzy then flows into the back of the crown in effect very fairy forest.
A veil calf with a minimum density would be ideal (more will give more weight and increase the all types of diamonds likelihood of the ring will slide backwards). The key to a wedding ring is to keep the decorations on the very delicate, so you do not look like a flower girl.If a crown is not your style, consider choosing a course with a jaunty little compensation in place of a traditional veil. It is a very elegant and modern, ideal for short hair. A veil cage can be a good compromise between traditional veils and go without a wedding veil with a short hairstyle. It allows you to run your modern style while feeling like a romantic weekend.

Is Willie America’s Last Country Singer?
A View of Country Music Past and Present
By: J. Marlando
America can only claim two types of music to call its own and they are on opposite sides of the musical pendulum: Jazz and Country!
I appreciate them both but mostly I’m a country fan because like so many other country fans, country was the music I grew up with. Nevertheless, I will start this article on the negative side because I personally don’t give much of a “hoot” for today’s so-called Country music or its presentation. Sorry country fans but you don’t have to agree with me. As for me, with few exceptions, I see crossover as the major event of today’s country singers and the urbanization of their performances; a kind of cross between hip hop and Lady Gaga doing rockabilly in cowboy boots which is most often called “country pop.” Admittedly this genre of modern country is enough to send me over to Jazz and keep me there…at least most of the time. And so, with all this in mind, we’ll begin our jaunt down a few old country roads.
A Quick Glance at Country Music’s Origins
Actually America’s country music has international roots in that when the great western migrations began from the East Coast and headed west not everyone spoke English since there were a lot of Germans, Italians, Hungarians and so forth either wagon-training across the plains or following the trails on foot or horseback. There were also Irish, Scotts and English and their language could be understood by the trained American ear.
To break the monotony and hardships of wagon train travel, it was not unusual for wagon masters to permit dancing and a little celebrating along the route and so those who could play and sing did. Mostly those songs were folk music of one’s own culture and so a lot of lyrics and music were exchanged by people. This also happened between some lone riders who happened to meet along the trial–if they couldn’t understand each other’s language, they could exchange their music and many did. Also when the great western cattle herds began to spread across the West cowboys also exchanged their traditional folk songs with one another especially during the longer drives across the discount tickets plains. Eddie Arnold captured this with his immortal and haunting “cattle call.”
The cattle are prowlin’
The Coyotes are Howlin
Way out where the doggies roam
Where spurs are a jinglin’
And the cowboy is singing
His lonesome cattle call…
In any case, the earliest form of America’s country was a combination of shared music and lyrics. And, when lyrics could not be understood it was not unusual for a traveler to make up his own lyrics to some stranger’s folk tune.
Also, the black slaves of our history contributed to what one day would become country music. Once the African born person was indoctrinated with Christianity, he and she became extremely faithful to Christian concepts of Jesus and God. As a result rural slaves would usually stay after the regular worship service (back then conducted by white ministers) or in what was then called “plantation houses” for singing and dancing. Some ministers did not approve of such joy in Christianity and so banned black music from the “houses of worship.” As a result black folks back then would meet in secret or what were called “camp meeting” where they would sing their spirituals for hours.
The very spirit and love of the black spirituals would find their ways into American country but this would be an irony that a great many historians would miss. Yet, it is widely known that black music is at the very roots of original rock ‘n roll and all black music can be traced back to those wonderful old spirituals. But also black gospel was all about sharing one’s joys, sadness, pains and pleasures which is also the essence of “soul” but also traditional country.
There was also the music of America’s back hills people. Traditional bluegrass certainly played a significant role in creating country. This music combined folk ballad, a unique blues and gospel which was named “hillbilly music” but some of that “hillbilly” music became the backbone of country itself. However, even bluegrass, in many ways the roots of American country music also was influenced by black gospel. And speaking of Bluegrass, when I was growing up my Aunt, who truly had a beautiful voice would sing a lot of it. One song that I remember has the title, “Listen to the Mocking Bird.” It was written in the middle of the 1800s by Alice Hawthorne.
I’m dreaming now of Hally, sweet Hally, sweet Haley:
I’m dreaming now of Hally,
For the thought of her is one that never dies:
She’s sleeping in the valley, the valley, the valley;
She’s sleeping in the Valley
And the mocking bird singing where she lies
Listen to the mocking bird, listen to the mocking bird
The mocking bird still singing o’er her grave;
Listen to the mocking bird, listen to the mocking bird,
Still signing where the weeping willows wave…
This kind of song belongs to the old Appalachian heart and when one can imagine the banjo, fiddle and mandolin accompanying the lyrics, the very spirit of (real) country comes alive.
The other major contribution to American country music was of course Cajun which, incidentally, also has influenced our country’s pop music as well. And so, actually Cajun swing and dancehall Cajun are mostly ingrained into our country music and actually didn’t evolve until the 1940s when country music was having its heyday.
Lastly, Mexican music greatly influenced American Country…especially mariachi I believe!
I can think of no music in the world other than Mexican music that captures romance and adventure in the way that Mexican music does. However American classical Honey Tonk is a very close second with lyrics like those from The Wild Side of Life.
You wouldn’t read my letter if I wrote you
You asked me not to call you on the phone
But there’s something I’m wanting to tell you
So I wrote it in the words of this song
I didn’t know God made Honey Tonk Angels
I might have known you’d never make a wife
You gave up the only one who ever loved you
And went back to the wild side of life…
This song was recorded by Hank Thomson in 1952 launching a career that would eventually sell 60 million records.
The great stars of American country would not even start evolving into the mainstream until 1922 but even by then most Americans remained unaware that a new sound and feeling was unfolding in American music. And so it is probably safe to say that country music as we know it today did not emerge until around 1923 when a radio station in Fort Worth, Texas began to broadcast a “barn dance” show. In the following year a Chicago station began broadcasting a barn dance that could be heard throughout most of the Midwest. From that time on the popularity of country was to expand countrywide becoming the most beloved by the most devoted fans in America and, for that matter, other parts of the world. The Cajun based lyrics written by Hank Williams (and a co-writer) in 1952 began with:
Goodbye Joe, me gotta go, me oh my oh
Me gotta go pole the pirogue down the bayou
My Yvonne, the sweetest one, me oh my oh
Son of a gun, we’ll have good fun on the bayou
Jambalaya a-crawfish pie and a-file gumbo
Cause tonight I’m gonna see me machez mio
Pick guitar, fill fruit jar and be gay-o
Son of a gun, we’ll have big fun on the Bayou
(I remember being in Chang Mai, Thailand near the Burma border in a small nightclub that had a local band performing. Being a little home sick, I ask if by any chance they knew the song Jambalaya. They did and they performed it well enough to put a tear in my eyes).
In any case, that is a brief history of America’s country music; a birth from the aspects of many other countries like the folk songs of Scotland and the Irish jigs; from the old square dances which were poor people’s versions of French formal dances; of black gospel and Mexican music. In this view, I suppose the question is was there anything original in American country music and the answer is yes…the lyrics. The lyrics were about life–its pains and pleasure, it’s falling into and out of love; about hard labor in such jobs as logging and coal mining. American country music was about the joys and sorrows of daily life, about lonesomeness and missing those we love but also about babies and family life and togetherness. And starting way back in the 20s the Carter family emerged into the country music business. Maybelle and her three daughters formed a quartet and one of her daughters, June, would pen ring of fire.
Love is a burning thing
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire
I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire
The song (rewritten a little by Johnny Cash and another lyricist) became a classic hit in 1962 but this was well after country music had become cemented in the American culture. Still, the recording by Johnny and June became a phenomenal hit:
The Heyday of Real Country Music
Actually it was Gene Autry who launched the Honkey Tonk style of country in the very early 1930s. He also recorded Mother Jones in memory of that great lady. But one of his giant hits was Mexicali Rose:
Mexicali Rose, stop crying
I’ll come back to you some sunny day
Every night you know that I’ll be pineing
Every hour of year, while you’re away
Dry those big brown eyes and smile dear
Banish all those tears and please don’t cry
Kiss me once again and hold me
Mexicali Rose goodbye.
Soon after this hit, yet another “singing cowboy,” Roy Rogers entered with a group named “The Sons of the Pioneers” with a song that would become an icon of country music–Tumblin’ Tumbleweeds.
Certainly country music supported the war years with songs like “There’s a gold star in her Window” by Tex Ritter, “Mother’s prayer” by Eddie Arnold and “Did you see my daddy over there,” Ernest Tubb. But it was after the war years that country finally spread its wings into America’s heart and mind.
Pee Wee King’s song, “Tennessee Waltz” was a big hit by 1950 but no wonder. The romantic lyrics told this story:
I was dancin’ with my darlin’
To the Tennessee waltz
When an old friend I happen to see
I introduced him to my loved one
And while they were dancin’
My friend stole my sweetheart from me…
There were just so many hits country music created from the mid-1930s but it wasn’t really until the postwar years 1945-1955 that western music began to blossom as America’s most beloved music. And, even though youth was turning to Rock ‘N Roll by the mid-50s, “downhome” country music and country singers remained, so to speak, in the soul of especially the “common, working folks” who make up most of the nation.
It was, in fact, 1955 that the Grand Old Opry made its television debut on ABC. The show was shot live with guests such as Kitty Wells, June Carter and Earnest Tubb performing their hits. The show didn’t last long then but its amazing future was, as no one was guessing back then, waiting in the wings.
The STARS of Country
It would take a very large book to name and explain all the country artists of our past. (In fact, there is a masterpiece of a book with title, Definitive Country, written by Barry McCloud and others. The book played an enormous role in my research for this article and I highly recommend it for any country fan who wants to know more about country performers).
What I will do, however, is talk about a few icons of country music:
I’ll start with Earnest Tubb because he is a major personal favorite of mine. He was nicknamed The Texas Troubadour and was extremely intrinsic I popularizing honky tonk. “I’m Walking the Floor Over you,” was his biggest hit.
Hank Snow is a giant in country music who was actually born and raised in Nova Scotia. As a youngster he ended up with a cruel stepfather and so he ran away from home at age 12 and became a cabin boy on a merchant marine ship. Snow signed a recording contract with RCA Victor (Montreal’s branch) and recorded two songs–they both became hits and his long career was launched. Then after a 45 year relationship with RCA the company simply dropped him in 1981. He was ageing and didn’t like where country music was going and made no bones about voicing his opinion. This might have been one of the reasons for the RCA decision?
Roy Acuff became a superstar of the 1940s. He was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1962.
Perhaps the reader will notice that I have failed to dwell on many female country singers so far. Well, country music was 99% male populated until 1952 when Kitty Wells became the first lady of country. She recorded, “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels” and it became such a big hit that she broke the barriers that the industry obviously had against female performers. Kitty Wells, however, was the real thing, as they say, as her country roots were deep and she was no stranger to hard times.
Another female icon is Dottie West beloved by country music fans. Dottie’s story is also one of toil and challenge. She was born the tenth child to her parents and raised picking cotton to help support the family. After her father deserted the family, her mother managed to open a restaurant and Dottie, working there, managed to earn a degree in music.
The fabulous Hank Williams. spoken of earlier, also came from a rural background. His parents were strawberry farmers. Hank, however, was already building his singing career by the middle of the 1930s and was destined to become admired by a world of fans but also by other performers in country music. The problem was that he lived hard and died young but in the doing, remains even to this day, a standard maker of true country.
Bob Wills is another superstar of traditional country. He was the major innovator of country swing and grew a tremendous career between the 1930s and 1950s. He is among the earliest to mix country with more of a pop feeling in its mood. Nevertheless, he too became an American legend of country music.
For me, however, there is none greater thanLoretta Lynn–well, for one thing she was born and raised by a coal mining family just as I was so, I suppose, I feel a particular empathy and love for her. Anyway, Loretta’s heydays in music didn’t arrive until the 1960s but then, the little girl from Butcher Holler would become America’s new (and lasting) queen of country. Her first recording, “I’m a Honky Tonk Girl” made it to number 15 on the charts and…well, the rest is history.
It would of course be somewhat of a sacrilege not to mention Patsy Cline when talking about country music’s icons. Once again her tale is filled with childhood pain. Her father sexually abused her when she was a child, and after he “flew the marital coop,” Patsy quit school at age 15 to help support her family. No one suspected that the young, Virginian was destined to become the most popular country singer in history…still holding the title! And, her song “Crazy” became the number one jukebox hit of all time. “Crazy” by the way was written by Willie Nelson.
There are just too many great country singers and musicians to mention within the limited space of an article but they include, Woody Guthrie, Minnie Pearl, Little Jimmy Dickens, Red Foley, Tex Ritter, Kenny Rogers, the Oak Ridge Boys, Emmylou Harris, Alabama, Johnny Cash, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Charlie Pride, Jerry Lee Lewis, Waylon Jennings and many more not nearly as well known like, Johnny Bush, Claude Casey, Carolina Cotton, Roy Harvey, Doug Kershaw, Donna Fargo and the list goes on.
As said, county peaked especially between 1945 and through much of the 1950s. While it has never lost popularity because the absolute devotion of country music fans, it did fail to keep producing the kind of music that erupted from the hearts of the performers. In many ways, has become an intellectual response to the mind of big business music producers. Then the 1980s had resurgence of heartfelt country and country was, if you will, “on the road again.” That was short lived, however, and only a handful of actual country-loving, calloused hand, heartfelt performers persist today and Willie Nelson is in the lead of them all.
Is Willy America’s Last Country Singer?
“This is your old cotton pickin’, snuff dippin’, tobacco chewin’, coffee pot dodgin’, dumplin’ eatin’, frog giggin’, hillbilly from Hill Country.” And this was the way Willy introduced himself as a disc jockey on Fort Worth’s KCNC back in1954. It wasn’t until the end of the 1950s that Willie decided to “go for it” as a country singer.
He sold the song he had written, “Family Bible,” for fifty dollars (a song that later made the top 10 by the way) and headed to Nashville with his family in his old 1941 Buick.
In Nashville his “office” became the Tootsie’s Lounge where he drank and pitched his songs.
Most of the songs that Willie wrote came up from his childhood past where he was raised in the small farming town of Abbott, Texas. He and his sister Bobbie were mostly raised by his grandmother after his parents split up. Anyway, back to the bar–Willie began making friends and soon enough his lyrics were being seriously looked at. Faron Young took Willie’s “Hello Walls” to the top and this followed “Crazy.” The Willie Nelson lyrics that Patsy Cline would eventually take to # 2 on the charts but Willie recorded the song earlier and it was this recording that perked Faron’s interest in his song writing talents.
As a quick aside Faron Young was also a country music phenomenon having one of the most successful country music careers with songs like, “Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young” and “Country Gild.” Part of Willie’s success was as a lyricist and composer but he felt the drive toward a singing career. And so, a little later, singing for RCA he had some hits but none, at that juncture, had turned him into an important country star; he need a big single to push him over the top and it kept failing to arrive.
In the meantime, he was on his second marriage and that was failing so, if you will, life was not a song for Willie, at least not a happy one. One day he became so depressed he lay down in the middle of the road hoping a car or truck would run over him; the truth was, I believe, he simply wanted to escape himself because he felt as if he didn’t have a fighting chance in a world that he didn’t quite like or understand.
After this time of depression Willie decided to do something else so he tried pig farming. That wasn’t such a bad life but then his property burned down. As a result, he returned to performing but this time with an image that went against the grain of the clean cut image that country singers had. He clad himself in a T-shirt, ragged jeans and wrapped a bandana around his head. Growing his hair long, he became the image of a country-soaked hippy; a flower child with a lot of hard times behind him. This was, I believe, Willie wearing his inside self, at long last, on the outside. At last he knew who he was and that was a powerful and wonderful feeling. I suspect at that juncture of his life he simply didn’t give a hoot what anyone thought and that attitude would become far more positive for his career than probably even he imagined. For one thing, it took some time for the industry to adjust to the new Willie Nelson. But no matter what Willie looked like on the outside, he had become a sincere seeker studying subjects like positive thinking, karma and other Eastern and spiritual beliefs. In regard to this, I doubt if the public will ever know what Willie learned or discovered from all that studying but Willie knows, and for Willie that’s what matters.
As the world continued to rotate further into the 1970s,Wille Nelson became more and more popular with songs such as Georgia on my Mind, Whiskey River, My heroes have always been Cowboys and Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to be Cowboys with Waylon Jennings and of course, “On the Road Again.” Then when life was just starting to feel great for the superstar the IRS hit him with a bill for millions and began stripping him of all he owned including homes and ranches, not excluding a private jet–Yes, Willie had gone from rags to that kind of riches and in spite of his IRS problems he was nevertheless elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame and proclaimed a “living Texas legend” by the governor. Today, he remains a living legend in the hearts and minds of countless fans and to a great many of those fans, including myself, he simply is, country music!
Can it really be so that Willie Nelson is America’s last (real) country singer? I think so and I’ll attempt to tell you, the reader, why: There are lots of truly great country singers these days just as there were in the past but the voice of “country” is not just a great tone, a great range or even a great voice. Country music is the calloused hands and sore backs of working people; it’s the sadness of lost love and, at the same time, the joy of family ties. Country music is tears on your pillow and good beer-drinking laughter but of course it’s also Saturday night celebration and Monday morning blues; it’s getting up after you’ve been knocked down and giving someone else a helping hand when they’re in need. Country music is neighborly; it knows what it’s like to worry about the bills, drive on bald tires and, at the same time, to raise up babies so they can grow up to have more than their folks did. Country music is about failing too; it’s about that twist in the pit of your stomach that says, “You could have done things differently…”
Country music is about home cooking and yes, mom and apple pie; it’s also about broken homes and broken hearts; it’s sometimes about being locked up and at other times about being free; it’s about the ups and downs and turnarounds of life itself! These are the elements, the very realities that I hear in the songs of Willie Nelson…there was a time when all country music was all about the root level of our humanism–it was all in the sounds that stretched between honky tonk and Cajun, of the old ballads and gospel. Willie has it all but I seldom even hear an echo of it in modern country but, of course, most of those old country roads are paved over now.

Imagine going to the grocery store. You see a lovely filet mignon steak for $7.99. Then right next to the fancy steak, you see a box of Ramen noodles, also priced at $7.99. Which would you purchase? Unless you’re a vegetarian or have something against beef, you’re going to pick the steak. And so would 9 out of 10 other people.
There’s a reason why there’s a huge line on the opening night of a popular movie. Why would anybody go see Movie B when it costs the same price as the popular new movie. Like the steak eaters in the food example, virtually everybody chooses the better move since the theatre charges the same price for every movie. But why? Why doesn’t supply and demand affect movie ticket prices like it affects the price in virtually every other market?
This is terribly inefficient. I have to wait in a huge line to see the new movie on opening night weekend, but the theatre is almost completely empty when the less-known documentary shows on Tuesday morning. Wouldn’t it make more sense to charge more for the popular movie? I’m sure people would be willing to pay more to see a popular movie than an unpopular movie. Also, more people would go see the less popular movie it were cheaper.
Also, imagine you’re going shopping for roses and chocolates. Would you expect the price to be higher in the middle of the summer or on Feb 13-14? Well if we were talking about movie tickets, we’d they’d cost the same! Movie theatres have taken a small step by offering matinees at a lower price than evening movies, but the price difference is quite small. And weekend moves are no more expensive than weekdays! No matter when you want to see a movie, the price is (almost) the same. Too bad gas stations don’t follow the movie theatre logic!
If supply and demand determined the price of movie tickets, things would be wildly different. I picture the following prices:
Opening night for a high profile movie on a weekend: $19.99
Weekend showing of a high profile movie: $14.99
Weekday evening showing of a high profile movie: $9.99
Low profile movie on weekend evening: $9.99
Low profile movie on weekend daytime: $7.99
Low profile movie http://the-cheapestseats.com/wicked-tickets-nyc/ on weekday: $4.99
I’d also expect concessions to also be discounted or priced according to supply and demand. The prices wouldn’t vary so much, but should probably be lower on weekdays.
So why does the movie industry charge the same price for every movie, regardless of popularity and timing? I have no idea, but movie theatres are ignoring the free market logic that virtually every industry profits from.
Do you think movie theatres should charge the same price? Or should movie theatres vary their prices?

The 10 best hair bands of the 1980′s had big hair and even bigger hits. Often referred to as “posers” because they seemed to care more about their image than the music, hair bands came onto the music scene in the 1980′s and took MTV by storm. Dressed in leather, spandex, and boots, these bands preened and posed, giving sultry looks right into the camera. The music they played was a mix of rock and roll and heavy metal-a very light”pop” metal. Because the musicians had long, flowing hair moussed and hair sprayed to the heavens, they became known as “hair bands”.
Here are ten of the best hair bands of the 1980′s.
Kip Winger and company hit the music scene in 1988 with the smash hit Madelaine. His smoldering good looks were perfect for music video. Along with band mates Reb Beach, Rod Morgenstern and John Roth, they toured the world with artists like ZZ Top. and heated up the charts from 1988-1994. They had several successful reunion tours during the 1990′s with a slightly changed line up, and released a new CD in November 2009 called Karma. This musical effort garnered Winger a list on the top 10 best album list of almost every rock website and magazine.
Led jersey boys las vegas locals by Dave Coverdale of Deep Purple fame, Whitesnake actually got it’s start in 1977. The band’s line-up would change over the years, and widespread notoriety would elude them until 1987, when they released Whitesnake. Some hard core fans felt was a sell-out to the MTV crowd. Tawny Kitaen, who would later marry and divorce Coverdale, pranced about wearing very little in these memorable videos. As band’s are known to do, they broke up and reformed several times over the years. In 2011, Whitesnake released Forevermore and they once again toured the world.
Lead singer Tom Kiefer had a wide vocal range-from high pitch to low and raspy. The blues inspired rock and roll songs they played made these Philly boys-Eric Brittingham, Jeff LaBar, and Fred Coury-a force to be reckoned with. They were discovered by Jon Bon Jovi and they released their platinum selling first album, Night Songs, in the summer of 1986.
Like many of the other top ten 80′s hair bands, Cinderella broke up, reunited, toured and repeated the process in the 2000′s. They are still touring and playing their many hits.
Brett Michaels, C.C. DeVille, Rikki Rocket, and Bobby Dall were Poison-a glam rock band from California. They wore more makeup than most women, and they looked good in it, too! Their monster hit, Talk Dirty to Me, from their smash album Look What the Cat Dragged In, helped them rise to the top of the hair band heap in 1986. They had several hit albums and popular MTV videos. Infighting, constant touring, and DeVille’s drug addiction eventually brought the band down and they never reached the same height of popularity again, even with new members.
Lead singer Stephen Percy founded Ratt back in 1977. Various line ups over the years eventually evolved into the group that hit the charts in 1984 with platinum selling Out of the Cellar. A cameo by Milton Berle in the Round and Round video was a hit with the MTV crowd. Ratt’s had consecutive four top ten albums, followed by a fifth album entitled Detonator, released in 1990. Sales were low and in 1992, the band went on hiatus. Different versions of the band went on and off tour in subsequent years. There was talk of a possible reunion and tour in 2012.
Next to Lita Ford, Vixen was the female top 10 hair band of the 1980′s. Finally, a musical group with hair longer than the guys! Vixen got it’s start in Minnesota with founder and guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, and eventually went to Los Angeles in the 1980′s. With band mates Jenna Sanz-Agero on lead vocals, Lynn Louise Lowrey on bass and Kat Kraft on drums, Vixen released two well received albums. They broke up in 1991, released a live album in 2005, and in 2012 they are planning a new tour.
Vocalist Vince Neil, guitarist Mick Mars, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee have been together for 30 years, a rare thing in the music industry for any music genre. They are best known for their 1980′s MTV videos for Dr. Feelgood, Girls, Girls, Girls, and Home Sweet Home. While they have had their share of disagreements and personal troubles, Motley Crue continues to tour. Their fans cannot get enough of this top 10 1980′s hair bands.
This Jersey based band had it’s start in 1986. Lead singer Sebastian Bach had an extremely powerful voice that took the band to the top of the charts in 1989 with it’s self-titled platinum debut album, which contained the hits I’ll Remember You and 18 and Life.
Their second album, Slave to the Grind, debuted at the number one spot in 1991, but grunge had already started to overtake the radio airwaves. In 1992 they took a break and returned in 1995 with another album that charted, but received little airplay.
The band called it quits after that and reformed in the early 2000′s without Bach.
Jani Lane, Erik Turner, Joey Allen, Jerry Dixon, and Steven Sweet were Warrant, one of the top 10 hair bands of the 1980′s. They began their career in 1984 in Los Angeles, and the final line up of the band signed with Columbia Records in January 1988. Their first album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich has three top ten hits, among them the power ballads Sometimes She Cries, Heaven, and their first smash hit, Down Boys.
Warrant’s second album, Cherry Pie, topped the charts at number two. Success would not follow a third time, as grunge had become the new favorite flavor of radio music. The band split, and several attempts at reconciliation failed. Jani Lane died of an apparent suicide in August 2011.
I saved my personal favorite-and best band-for last. Bon Jovi has done what most of the other top 10 hair bands have not-stayed together and rocked on for close to thirty years. Their line up has remained virtually unchanged since their 1984 self-titled debut album. Guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboard player David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres and Jon have been together for the whole ride. Bassist Alec John Such left the band in 1995 and was replaced by Hugh McDonald, who has played with Bon Jovi ever since.
Bon Jovi took breaks over the years to work on individual projects, like Broadway shows and movies, but always reformed and came back better with each release. Their style of music changed with the times, and today they continue to tour to sold out arenas around the world. This is why I believe they are the top 10 hair band of the 1980′s and of all time!

It was 1962, JFK was the president, Marilyn Monroe died, and it was an exhilarating but also frightening time in our history. The Cuban missile crisis happened, but war was behind us – except for the cold war. The threat of nuclear destruction lent a certain urgency to rock and roll, and lovers’ complaints blended with silly dance songs and new sounds to create a fascinating variety of music. It was a soundtrack for escape, yearning, and trying to smile in the face of fear.
What happened in 1962′s Music?
As a concept and thematic chunk of time, the 60s was an oddball of a decade – it really started in 1962 and ended in the early 70s. In England, the British Invasion was being born with the Beatles doing their very first recordings and The Rolling Stones playing their first gigs. In a couple of years, everything would change, but for now in America it was good old rock and roll that topped the charts, and a soul-country hybrid, and some surf-rock instrumentals…OK, 1962 was in many ways just as eclectic as the luke bryan lady antebellum tickets rest of the decade would be, but rustically, provincially, charmingly so.
Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music – Ray Charles
The big hit of the year was the slow-dance ballad I Can’t Stop Loving You, a highlight of any Ray Charles songs list. It was taken from his album called Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music, which was unique in many ways. The album itself was one of the first concept albums in rock and roll – but it had strong elements of soul, R&B, and country music as well. The concept for the record was a new way of interpreting hillbilly songs, as they were called, and Charles brought them into the modern age with a rocking, soulful, yet countrypolitan sound all his own. The album was a smash hit and contained zero filler – another novel idea for 1962. A recent biopic about Ray Charles is a great introduction to his music and the recording of this landmark album.
Play that Sherry Baby song
A group from New Jersey released their first album, and it was mostly filler – but the 4 Seasons album had 2 hit singles that were clearly something new. The hip-sounding falsetto, the big drum and bass sounds, the very urban-ness of Sherry and Big Girls Don’t Cry launched the group into the stratosphere, where they continued making hits for years.
For the Beach Boys, 1962 was only the beginning
A little band of brothers and friends from California released a single that summed up a culture and an approach to music and life that would color the decade to come and indeed the history of rock – the Beach Boys. When Surfin’ Safari came out, the west coast beach subculture was unknown to the rest of the world. The hit song changed all that and revved up the Wilson brothers’ career in a big way.
Dance, Surf, Dance Some More
Teenagers loved to dance, and several of the big hits of 1962 were dance tunes that named specific dances. Limbo Rock by Chubby Checker, Mashed Potato Time by Dee Dee Sharp, and The Wah Watusi by the Orlons were songs to dance to, about dances – a weird idea that was just swell with the kids. The instrumental approach produced several hits- the first surf rock song by the Tornadoes called Telstar (echoing the space age just being born), and a soul-flavored no vocals tune called Green Onions by a Memphis group known as Booker T. and the MGs.
The King and others
Of course, Elvis continued his success on the charts of 1962 with Return to Sender, Good Luck Charm, and Can’t Help Falling In Love. Phil Spector’s girl group the Crystals had his first big hit with He’s a Rebel, and Gene Chandler made sure that the Duke of Earl would be ear candy forever. A former doo-wop singer with only one name – Dion – made a hit out of a song about a womanizer and cheater that you just had to love – the Wanderer. And an important song in the history of rock was first recorded and released by the Contours. Do You Love Me was later covered by British invaders The Dave Clark Five, and by Bruce Springsteen in concert, among many others. It was a superb example of the best of what rock had to offer in that long-ago time, 1962.

Some people say there is no easy way to stop smoking. Yet people who have successfully quit will often tell you that it was easy, when they look back. Often, they tried many times before and failed – they went back to smoking after a few days, weeks, or months. But that one time, they stopped without much trouble, and never started again. So what made it easy that time?
Most smokers want to stop and if there was a magic method or supplement that worked for everybody, there would probably only be a couple of smokers left in the world. So it’s pretty clear that whatever methods may be suggested, they do not work for all of the people who try them, every time.
Finding the easy way is often just a matter of doing it at the right time. This means that instead of deciding you will quit tomorrow, or next week, or on January 1st, you should act any time when you feel a strong desire to quit.
This moment may come when you are sick, when your kid says something to you that makes you feel ashamed, or just one day for no apparent reason. It might be right now. It will not just be a vague wish that you didn’t smoke, but something stronger, a real emotional motive.
For most people that is what makes it easy one time when it never was before: they simply did it at the right moment. You have probably had these times in the past and ignored them. This time, do not push this moment away and try to forget it, but act on it. When it comes, stop right now.
Your motivation may still go up and down but you can be sure that you can make it through. You need to keep on thinking positively. Remind yourself how great it is to be a non-smoker. After a few days, you will find it is easier to sit through a long movie or plane journey without getting anxious and wishing for the end so that you could smoke. Be aware of how much more enjoyable your life is getting, and remind yourself of it often.
People who use aids like nicotine replacement, hypnosis, or any kind of therapy or support group usually do better than those who do not. It may be that their willingness to spend money on these things is a sign of higher commitment. These things can help you to keep your motivation high.
Most people have activities that remind them of smoking. Go ahead and avoid these activities for a couple of weeks if it helps. It is a good idea to give up alcohol temporarily, not only because you probably associate it with smoking, but because your motivation will be much lower when you have had a couple of drinks. You may also need to avoid certain places or even certain friends.
At the same time, you should not stay home alone with nothing to do. Quitting smoking can be a little like losing a friend: you will grieve, and you need to try to occupy your mind, your hands and your time. Take up a hobby that involves using your hands, such as woodworking or quilting, or make a list of things that need fixing around the house and do them one by one.
Drinking a small glass of water every time you have a craving is a great way to avoid overeating. Or simply notice how quickly a craving disappears. You may be surprised. Even if you do nothing to satisfy it, the strongest craving will vanish within 90 seconds. Sure it comes back, but 90 seconds is not long to hold out best quit smoking each time.
If you have a lot of anger coming out and you are taking it out on your friends and family, do not use that as an excuse to give up your resolve. Your irritability is only temporary. It may seem that your friends would be better off if you started smoking again, but that is not true. They are way better off without you blowing smoke into the air that they breathe.
In the end, the easy way to stop smoking is any way that works for you – when you do it at the right time.

Hypnosis can be a mystical subject. “I am increasing my confidence everyday”, “I am self assured and self confident in every situation” and “I can feel my self-esteem increasing everyday” are a few good examples. You could see touring Broadway shows in several LA venues. These are are the same shows you are able to see in other significant cities such as Seattle or Dallas. But have in mind that seeing a Broadway show in LA isn’t the intimate encounter you receive on Broadway in New York City. TALLAHASSEE, Florida (Reuters) – Florida state legislators voted on Friday to pressure Major League Baseball into changing its rules so players in Cuba will be in a better bargaining position when dealing with professional teams in the United States.
The state House of Representatives voted 93-16 for an economic development bill that provides $12 million in tax breaks for professional sports franchises expanding or renovating their facilities in Florida. The measure will now be taken up by the Senate, which is in the closing days of the legislative session in Tallahassee next week.
An amendment was inserted requiring Major League Baseball to allow Cuban players to bargain with teams as free agents, rather than competing in the amateur draft.
Unlike players from other countries, Cuban prospects are required to establish residency in another country in order to negotiate with major league clubs as free agents. If they come directly to the United States, they are then subject to the amateur draft.
“If baseball wouldn’t change their practices, then they wouldn’t get an opportunity to participate in these funds,” Representative Matt Gaetz told the House. “I would ask you to vote for this bill for every young boy in Cuba who wants a fair chance to come to this country to play baseball, without being forced into the arms of human traffickers, smugglers and drug cartels.”
The amendment was prompted following reports that Cuban-born slugger Yasiel Puig, now with the Los Angeles Dodgers, smuggled his way out of Cuba to Mexico to avoid the draft, only to be held hostage by the smugglers.
The amendment also requires MLB to report to the state attorney general any information about the smuggling of refugees.
MLB was quick to respond to passage of the bill on Friday, issuing a statement saying it was “extremely concerned about the role of human traffickers in assisting Cuban baseball players leave the country.”
However, MLB said its policies were not to blame for the role boston red sox tickets of human smugglers, and questioned whether Cuban players had to “rely on traffickers to defect to countries other than the U.S., such as Mexico or the Dominican Republic, but would not need the assistance of traffickers to reach U.S. soil.”
MLB also said that it would meet with the Players Association to determine whether changes can be made to its signing rules “to reduce or eliminate the reliance of Cuban players on criminal organizations when leaving Cuba.”
It added it would speak to the U.S. State Department “about actions that the U.S. government can take to reduce or eliminate the trafficking of Cuban baseball players.”
Public funding of stadiums and other tax concessions for spring training, the NFL’s Super Bowl or other major sports events are a frequent topic in the state legislature. But Gaetz said the amendment was a matter of principle.
“This is about vulnerable people on the island of Cuba that want a fair chance and I’m going to stand with them,” he said.
The bill now goes to the Senate, where a companion measure is pending.

In June, Paris native Sarah Guillot-Guyard http://the-cheapestseats.com/ fell 94 feet (29 metres) to her death during a midair battle scene in the show “KA” in Las Vegas.
The show was being performed at the Aria Resort and Casino.
Both Cirque du Soleil and MGM Resorts, the owner of the Las Vegas MGM Grand, said they would appeal the rulings in connection with the June accident.
Guillot-Guyard, 31, died after falling in the final scene of the performance, in which the stage is vertical and performers wear safety harnesses attached to a cable. The wire rope attaching her to a safety harness scraped against suspension equipment and became detached, Nevada OSHA said.
The unidentified male acrobat was performing in the “Wheel of Death” act during the show “Zarkana” when he slipped and fell off the wheel, Cirque du Soleil said in a Facebook posting on Saturday.
After a four-month investigation, the Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration earlier this week issued six citations, totaling $25,235, to Cirque du Soleil, which describes its shows as “a dramatic mix of circus arts and street entertainment.”
Sat Nov 2, 2013 11:25pm EDT
“The show was halted and the artist was transported to University Medical Center where he is in stable condition and is expected to be released from hospital in the next few days,” the statement said.
Nov 2 (Reuters) – A Cirque du Soleil acrobat was hospitalized after suffering injuries in a fall during a performance in Las Vegas on Friday night, just days after the Montreal-based company was fined in connection with a fatal accident in June.

Perhaps the 1998 New York Yankees greatness was first revealed on May 17, 1998. On that day, veteran David Wells threw the fifteenth perfect game in baseball history. The 4-0 victory over the Blue Jays on that beautiful Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium was a harbinger of good things to come.
The 1998 New York Yankees Pitching
Wells had his new york yankees tickets best season, going 18-4 with a 3.41 ERA. Clubhouse leader David Cone went 20-7 with a 3.55 ERA and 209 strikeouts. Andy Pettitte was tough and reliable all season, pitching 217 innings and going 16-11.
But the team’s most fascinating pitcher was Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez. El Duque had been the ace for the Cuban National Team for a decade. In the winter of 1997, however, he defected to America on a raft. The he signed with the Yankees and changed the face of pitching. Using a high leg kick and a misleading delivery to throw his cupboard of cockeyed pitches, Hernandez went 12-4 with a 3.13 ERA.
The 1998 Yankees Offense
The 1998 New York Yankees offense was all about patience and plate discipline. They had the most walks and the third least strikeouts in the American League. But they also had a lot pop.
Tino Martinez had 28 home runs and 123 RBI. Bernie Williams hit .333 with 26 homers. Paul O’Neill had the best year of his life, hitting .317 with 20 HR, 116 RBI and 15 SB. Even former Mets slugger Darryl Strawberry had a nice resurgence, with 24 HR and 57 RBI in 295 at-bats.
The real offensive surprises of the year were shortstop Derek Jeter, and journeyman third baseman Scott Brosius. Jeter finished third in AL MVP voting after hitting .324 with 19 HR, 127 Runs, and 30 SB. Brosius hit an even .300 with 19 homers and 98 RBI.
The Best Team Ever?
The 1998 New York Yankees won 114 regular season games, the most ever by an American League Team.
In the ALDS, they faced the potent offense of the Texas Rangers. Texas scored just one run in three ALDS games, and their season was over.
In the ALCS, the Yankees ran into trouble when the Yankees let the Indians win Game 3 and take a 2-1 Series lead. But the Bronx Bombers battled back in Game 4 behind El Duque’s brilliant shutout performance. The Yankees also prevailed in thrillers in Games 5 and 6, and got ready to face the San Diego Padres in the 1998 World Series. The Padres had won 98 Games. Their lineup included Tony Gwynn, 1996 NL MVP Ken Caminiti, and Greg Vaughn, who hit 50 homers in 1998.
Their rotation was headed by Kevin Brown, who was untouchable in 1998. Brown in18 games, struck out 257 batters, and had a 2.39 ERA. He pitched almost 260 innings, threw seven complete games, and had a 6-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. San Diego also had tough starters Andy Ashby and Sterling Hitchcock to round out the rotation. Trevor Hoffman was their All-Star closer. None of them could slow down the Yankee machine.
Game One was decided by a seventh inning upper deck Grand Slam by Tino Martinez that landed 450 feet from home plate.
In Game 3, the Padres held a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth inning. With one out and a man on first, manager Bruce Bochy released closer Trevor Hoffman (53 Saves, 1.48 ERA) from his cage. He came out to the blaring sounds of AC/DC’s Hells Bells as the crowd of 65,000 went absolutely insane.
Hoffman got Bernie Williams to fly out, but then he walked Tino Martinez. The crowd clenched like one giant nerve but held out hope that Hoffman could save the day. He didn’t. He threw a hard slider that didn’t slide very much to Scott Brosius, who promptly deposited the pitch 450 feet away over the center field fence. Twenty minutes later, the Yankees had a 3-0 series lead.
Andy Pettitte pitched the game of his life the next night, throwing eight shutouts innings. Rivera closed out the ninth, as usual.
The 1998 New York Yankees record, including the playoffs and World Series, was 125-50. Their series win seemed more like a coronation than just a championship. They were the second best team ever.

Henna tattoo: preferred by all
Henna is one of the best alternatives to permanent colour and is much in demand for its cosmetic value. Henna tattoos pre owned watches are made from henna paste that is formed from ground green henna leaves, mixed with water and other natural products. The paste, when applied to the skin or the hair, leaves a colour that can vary from orange to rich mahogany, depending on the quality of the henna being used.
Traditional henna has been used for beautification and decoration purposes for thousands of years. While it is known as Henna or Hene in the Middle East and Africa, people in India and Pakistan know it as Mehendi. The Henna plant, Lawsonia Inermis, generally grows in hot and humid climates and is cultivated in several African countries, including Sudan and Morocco, Asian countries such as India, and some of the countries in the Middle East. It was the Mughals who encouraged the cultivation of henna in India and Pakistan and used the traditional henna for beauty and decorative purposes rather than just for its medicinal value. Although the use of henna tattoos has spread across a vast geographic area in recent years, it continues to be largely used as a beauty product.
Henna is preferred as a temporary tattoo because of the variety offered by it in terms of colour and design. While you can have elaborate designs with varied colours for special occasions, simple designs can be used in your daily routine. Application of the henna tattoo has also become easier with the availability of several Henna based products that have given a new lease of life to the varied uses of henna. Even better, now henna is available in easy-to-use Henna Pens that make applying henna tattoos as easy as drawing on paper.
Henna tattoo and its geographical roots
A major reason for henna’s growing popularity is that its colour is temporary and fades away with time and washing. So people who wish to get intricate designs on their body, but are afraid of or dislike piercing the skin can opt for henna tattoos, which are not only attractive but also cheap and simple to apply. Henna tattoos match the advantages offered by other forms of temporary tattoos in that they are available in various designs and varied colours. Tattoo artists have evolved newer designs over the years, besides using contemporary designs to suit the requirements of the modern day customer.
The latest use of henna tattoos is for various other cosmetic products as well. Due to its chemical-free nature and cooling properties, it makes excellent eyeliners, lipsticks and gels for soothing the skin.
A new age for Henna
Although in existence for thousands of years, the usage of traditional henna has so far been restricted to the Middle East, Africa and India. However, in the past few years, the concept of temporary tattoos has gained ground even in western countries, especially the US and the UK. The major advantages offered by the henna tattoo are that they are natural, easy to apply and remove, and low in cost. The absence of chemicals is what makes the henna tattoo a much sought after temporary tattoo.
